The external appearance of the studio was designed to be predominantly in keeping with the new modern languages block, with use of red brick facades, powder coated aluminium windows and a composite metal over sailing mono-pitched roof. However, the choice of yellow render was deliberate to contrast with the surrounding buildings and create an area that is lively and interesting.
Sustainability: The choice of materials allowed faster construction time, as well as high levels of insulation. The building set a new standard for sustainability at the school.
